Free Vintage Knit and Crochet Doll Costumes from Peter Pan – pattern #1 – Tinkerbell to crochet




CROCHETED TINKER BELL to fit 6″ Dawn-type doll

MATERIALS: Knit Cro Sheen, #8 (H) hook OR ANY THREAD OR YARN & HOOK to give gauge of 9 sc per inch

Starting at bottom of panties, ch 29 » Sc in 2nd ch from hook & in each ch across, ch 1, turn; 28 sts« Remember to “ch 1 & turn” at end of every row unless told to do otherwise.
Work 6 rows of sc
Row 7: Sc across, DECREASING 8 sts; 20 sts
Row 8: Sc across in BACK LOOP of each st. (This is the waistline & you will work skirt on other loop of each st later).
Rows 9 & 10: Sc each row,
Rows 11 & 12: Sc, INCREASING 4 sts EACH ROW: 28 sts.
Row 13: Sc across.
Row 14: 5 sc, ch 6, skip 3, 10 sc, ch 6, skip 3, 6 sc; work 2 more sc in last st, then sc along back edge to where you worked Row 8 at waistline, ch 5

Row A: *Sc in loop, ch 5, repeat from* across, turn,

Rows B & C: *Sc in “ch 5” loop, ch 5, sc in same loop, ch 5, rpt from* in each loop across, turn.

At end of Row C, break yarn instead of “ch 5”. Sew skirt, then sew back seam of panties & sew center front & back of panties together. Sew snaps at back opening above waist.

WINGS : Ch 2, work 3 sc in 2nd ch from hook, ch 3 & turn.
Row 1: (Dc, ch 1) in 2 sts, dc in last st,ch 3, turn
Row 2: *Dc in space between dc’s, ch 1, dc in top of dc, ch 1, rpt from* to last st, dc in last st, ch 3,
Rpt Row 2 three more times & break thread.
Fold piece in half, block to shape of wings. Run a thread through fold & pull up tightly & sew to back of dress. Stiffen if necessary or wire edges, so wings will stand up.
