Knitted Square Shawl

Materials -
Medium or Sport Weight Yarn, approx. 4 skeins
Knitting Needles: One pair No. 4 straight needles (Standard);
one No.8 circular needle (Standard)

GAUGE: 13 stitches=2 inches

With No.4 needles, cast on 210 sts. Work in stockinette st. for 36 ins. Bind off.

Border: With No.8 circular needle, pick up 210 sts. along each of four sides of shawl (840 sts. in all). Work in lace pattern as follows:
Round 1: * K 2 tog., y.o., repeat from * around.
Round 2: K.
Mark 4 corner sts. and, at each of the 4 corners, inc. 1 st. by knitting in 1 st. twice every other round.
Repeat rounds 1 and 2 for 4 ins.
Bind off loosely.
