Knit baby bootees

1 oz. Sport or baby weight yarn, White or color desired.
1 ½ yds. 1 inch ribbon.
1 yd. ¼-inch ribbon.
1 pr. knitting needles No. 2.

Pattern Stitch
1st Row. K 1, P 1, * K 1, P 4, repeat from *16 times, K1, P 1, K 1.

2nd Row. K 1, P 2, * K 3, P 2, repeat from *16 times, P1, K1.

3rd Row. K 1, P 1, * K 3, P 2, repeat from *16 times, K1, P 1, K 1.

4th Row. K 1, P 2, * K 1, P 4, repeat from *16 times, P1, K 1.

Repeat these 4 rows for pattern. Work even in pattern for 4 inches, ending with 4th row of pattern.

CUFF: Cast on 44 sts and work in seed St for 10 rows.

P 2 rows, increasing 1 St on last row.

Then work in pattern for 2 inches ending with 4th row of pattern.

P 2 rows decreasing 1 St on last row (44 sts).

Next Row. K 2, * Y 0, K 2 tog, repeat from * across row.

P 3 rows.





Next Row. K 17 sts and place on holder, K next 10 sts for instep, place remaining 17 sts on another holder.

Work 2 inches in garter St (K each row) on the 10 sts of instep ending on wrong side and place on a double pointed needle cut yarn.

Slip the 17 sts from 1st holder on needle, attach yarn and pick up 13 sts on side of instep, K 10 sts from spare needle, pick up 13 sts on opposite side of instep, K across remaining sts (70 sts).

K 13 rows.





Next Row. K across decreasing 1 St at beginning and end of row and decreasing 2 sts around toe.

K 1 Row.





Repeat last 2 rows once, bind off.

Sew back and sole seams.

Lace ribbon through beading.
