Reader Request – Knit and Crochet Christmas Outfits for Preemies

Once our power was restored after last night’s storm, I discovered this lovely comment on yesterday’s post –

Hello all at Grandma’s. As Christmas is fast approaching is it possible to have some patterns for Christmas apparel (booties, beanies, diaper/nappy covers) for babies? A small group of friends and I have been “volunteered” to knit Santa and Elf outfits for premature babies in a large Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. A photographer is donating her time to photograph all babies in the unit over the Christmas period and giving framed pics of the babies to the parents on Christmas Day. I thought it a lovely gesture and am happy to help, but converting from patterns to fit tiny babies is a little daunting for me.
We would all be so appreciative if you are able to help us.
Thank you.
Anne

I’m delighted to help this heartwarming project! There are a lot of patterns for preemies out there – I think that once you have a pattern that is the right size, making it a Christmas outfit is simply a matter of choosing the right Christmas colors.

Good luck with your project, dear ladies. May God bless you.
