Crochet Granny Squares – One Square Afghan





SIZE: As shown. 52″ by 52″.

MATERIALS:
Unger’s Nanette, 18 50-gram balls for the above size. (Note:Colors may be arranged as desired. Work 1, 2 or more rnds in any color desired.)
Size E aluminum crochet hook.





AFGHAN: Starting at center, ch 6, join with a sl st to form a ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 3. 2 dc in ring, * (ch 1, 3 dc in ring) 3 times, ch 1, join with a sl st to top of starting ch (4 sections).
Rnd 2: Ch 3. 2 dc in same space (half corner), * ch 1. 3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc all in next space (full corner), repeat from * twice more, end ch 1, 3 dc in first space worked in. ch 1. slip st to top of starting ch to complete 4th corner.
Rnd 3: Ch 3, 2 dc in first space (half corner). * ch 1, 3 dc in next space, ch 1, 3 dc. ch 1 . 3 dc in next space (corner); repeat from * around, end ch 1, 3 dc in next space, ch 1, 3 dc in first space worked in, ch 1, join with a sl st to top of starting ch (completion of 4th corner).
Rnd 4: Ch 3, 2 dc in first space, * (ch 1, 3 dc in next space) twice, ch 1, 3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc in next space for corner; repeat from * around, ending ch 1, 3 dc in first space worked in, ch 1, join to top of starting ch with a sl st (completion of 4th corner).
Continue in this manner, starting and ending each rnd with a half corner and always having 1 group of 3 dc more between corners on each rnd until afghan is the desired size.
