JOINING OF SECTIONS

Arrange right side girl and flower basket as shown on Detail; sew securely together; join left side girl at opposite side of basket in same way. Tack shells marked from A through D on skirt to corresponding shells on left side girl.

Blocking: Most crocheted garments must be blocked when the work is completed. If article is made in sections, block each piece separately Following measurements given on Chart (normal measurements for size) or your own. It you desire, this chart can be reproduced in actual size on heavy paper and laid on a flat padded surface. Put the crocheted piece on it. Pin the edges with rustproof pins to the edges indicated on paper. Cover with damp cloth and steam with a warm iron; do not press or allow iron to rest on cloth because this would flatten design. Remove when dry.

All household articles are blocked and most of them pressed. Lacy designs made of cotton must be stretched as much as possible; and then are pressed.

Always use a damp pressing cloth. Lift the iron from place to place rather than pushing it. However do not press any article with raised parts as popcorn or puff stitches.

Whether steaming or pressing a piece do not remove until thoroughly dry.
