This small clutch purse, decorated with brightly colored wooden beads, takes you a step further in learning to crochet. Here, you use three stitches: double crochet, slip stitch, and single crochet. The yarn is easy-to-work four-ply knitting worsted. The hook used is G.

Materials:
2 ounces 4-ply knitting worsted
95 wooden beads
Crochet Hook size G

Gauge: 4 sc = 1 inch; 7 rows = 2 inches.

Body: Ch 22. Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch 1, turn.
Row 2: Sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn.
Repeat till 10″. Fasten off.

Flap: String 95 beads on yarn.
Draw beads up as needed.
Starting at center, ch 3. Join with sl st to first ch to form ring.
Rnd 1: Work 8 sc in ring. Join with sl st.
Rnd 2: * Sc in next sc, draw up a bead, sc in same sc; repeat from * around (16 sc, 8 beads). Join.
Rnd 3: * Sc in next sc, draw up a bead; repeat from * around (16 sc, 16 beads).
Rnd 4: Ch 3 to count as first dc, draw up a bead, dc at base of ch-3, * draw up a bead, dc in next sc, draw up a bead, dc in same sc; repeat from * around (32 dc, 32 beads). Ch 3 turn.
Rnd 5: Dc in base of ch-3, dc in next 16 dc, 2 dc in next dc (20 dc). Ch 3, turn.
Rnd 6: Work 2 dc in each dc with a bead next to each dc except last dc (40 dc, 39 beads). Fasten off.

Finishing: Sc flap to bag on right side. Fold bag body; sc sides.
